In October 2017, the “Plac Teatralny” Foundation received an invitation for the Aleksander Fredro Theater in Gniezno to participate in the XXVII International Theater Festival “Bałtycki Dom” in Russia. The festival’s director invited the performance of “Piaskownica” directed by Evgenia Baginskaya. The president of the foundation coordinated the theater’s trip to St. Petersburg. The Gniezno theater performed “Piaskownica” in front of a full audience and received a loud round of applause. Natalia Skorokhod, the dean of the Department of Playwriting at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater, who was collaborating with the foundation, invited the audience to a meeting with the play’s author, Michal Walczak. There were questions about inspiration, creativity, and future plans. Michal Walczak’s cabaret “Pożar w Burdelu” (Fire in the Brothel) received significant interest. After the performance and meeting, Marina Aronowna Bielayewa, the festival’s director, invited everyone to a festive dinner. The Aleksander Fredro Theater received a traditional Russian pie for being a debutant at the festival.
