Our foundation started the production of the play “In the Radiation” by Artur Pałyga at one of the most important stages in Russia, at the Lesoveta Theater in St. Petersburg. The director of the play is Andrzej Bubień, a resident of St. Petersburg and winner of many international theatrical awards. The stage design is created by Svetlana Tuzhikova, a graduate of the scenography department at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre in Eduard Kachergin’s class. The music for the play is created by Gleb Kolyadin, a prominent young generation pianist. The play is a portrait of Marie Curie, the most famous Pole in the world. Pałyga’s drama shows the humanity of the Nobel laureate, her scientific passion, struggle with reality, and determination, without which she would not have reached the top of the scientific world, receiving the Nobel Prize twice as the only woman in history. The role of Marie Curie is played by two well-known actresses, Valentina Sizonenko and Laura Pitskhelauri. The premiere of the play will take place on November 6th and 7th, 2021. The producer of the play is Filip Fratczak, President of our Foundation’s Board. The performance is created on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the work of the Polish-Russian Centre for Dialogue and Understanding. The media patronage of the project was taken over by TVP Kultura and the monthly magazine “Teatr”. The honorary patronage of the project was taken over by the Association of Polish Theatre Artists ZASP and the Alliance of Theatre Figures of the Russian Federation. The strategic partner of the play is the Polish-Russian Centre for Dialogue and Understanding.
